And so it begins

Now that RUS is setting the games on fire, let’s get the party started. When all was said and done, you sent me 42 entries. That’s not bad. A bit more intimate than the last time I ran one of these, but that’s OK. It’ll give us a chance to get to know each other.
Most of you picked GER to do a repeat performance, and take home the cup again. The award for most improved country goes to FRA, which had only 1 pick last time (out of nearly twice as many entries), but is now the third most popular pick. Here is the distribution of your winning picks:

This time we have 23 entries from Justin Trudeau fans (a.k.a. Canadian resident taxpayers) and 19 Foreigners (yes, that includes those of us in the USofA, but also the UK, Netherlands and Brazil).
IMPORTANT
Here is a page with all your entries, please check to makes sure that I didn’t mess up.

That’s all for now. Good luck and thanks again for participating.
PS: If you are still on the mailing list, but didn’t enter the 2018 Pool, I will remove your subscription so that you don’t get irritated over the next month. If you want to sign-up again, be my guest.
PPS: There are still a few of you that haven’t coughed up the entry fee yet, exposing me to significant counterparty credit risk. Time to PAY UP, or I’ll send Michael Cohen after you. I hear he is good at that sort of thing.

Interesting enough the new meaning of VAR that other than Value at Risk, in FIFA2018 means Video Assistant Referee. The new VaR impact a few decisions already like the penalty in France game.
Also, does anyone follow Saint Petersburg cat 🐈 predictions? Apparently the cat was right until yesterday:).
Stu,
Remind us who won the pool last time ?
Ahh. That was Jim T, and by some strange voodoo, Sayaka T came 2nd.
Should have remembered that…
