2014 World Cup Kick-off

Brazil, when stars were entertaining June,

Hey folks…. remember those halcyon Euro Cup days, 2 years ago when we all agreed to meet back  here?   Me neither, but  here we go anyway.

I’m pleased to announce the 2014 World Cup pool : Brazil edition.  With a little luck, the stadia will be ready, the favelas will be pacified, and we’ll all have a bit of fun.  This time, no time zone issues to contend with.  We can enjoy in real time.

The fixtures begin on Thursday, 12 June 2014. The final is on Sunday, 13 July.

Here’s the deal…..

Entry fee: still only $10 (cheap) . . . payable to me in cash, cheque, email transfer or PayPal.  Deadline is midnight 11 June, Toronto time.

Prizes for:

Booty
1st place: 50% of the pool
2nd place: 25% of the pool
Leader after the Group Matches: 25% of pool, less $10
Merci Prize: $10

Total Available Points
Each team advancing to the Elimination Round 2 32
Correct 1st or 2nd place standing of each  team in the Group stage 1 16
Winner of each match in the Elimination Round, except the finals 3 42
3rd place 3 3
2nd place 5 5
World Cup Winner 10 10
Best Possible Score 108
